DAY 5

Having Interior Technology lecture in the morning was a dread; it was a heavy lecture and the brain was not absorbing much. Soon yours truly started to feel drowsy. Thankfully Thursday afternoons is set aside for excursions. Throughout the journey to Ascendas IT Park, the eyes feasted on the sky and faraway hills which were unobstructed by towering buildings. It was a refreshing change from the Singapore skyline.

Ascendas IT Park was a rather nice place with a gym on the 9th level. One side overlooks the sea while the other overlooks the city and hills.

On the -1st level (no it’s not the basement, it’s the -1st level) we were told more about the building; that it was going to open in September and such.

Next destination was a rather big mall which I forgot the name of. It had a chic store with a name to remember which has yet to open.

Despite the cold weather, I decided to have some banana and green tea ice-cream. Yes, the black-colored ball is banana-flavored ice-cream. I’m looking forward to seeing more exotic ice-cream colors and flavors.

Soccer is apparently popular in Dalian; so much so that they have sausage wrapped in soccer-ball-patterned plastic.

Singapore needs a wider variety of Pocky and Pretz flavors, at a reasonable price such as 5 RMB.

For dinner we had steamboat at a restaurant just outside DPU. The meat slices were paper thin and I had major trouble cooking it for it kept slipping away when it was dipped. Just next to our table was a bunch of guys drinking and smoking. The drinking made them go louder in volume while the smoking stank up the clothes. I walked out of the restaurant smelling as though I had barbecue instead of steamboat.
